Faith Development
One of the joys and challenges of Unitarian Universalism is taking personal responsibility for your own spiritual journey while in a faith community with i individuals who practice their spirituality in different ways. Such diversity is a strength to the community and to the individual members. It can deepen and mature your spirit in ways that going it alone - or surrounding yourself with like-minded people won't.

Spiritual Practices

During the week, there are smaller gatherings of those who practice their spirituality in a chosen way. Some of these groups meet on a regular on-going basis or on special occasions. Other members chose to practice their faith in nonpublic ways.

Mindfulness Practice Group
Walking the path to happiness is not an intellectual exercise; it is a journey of the mind at the level of feeling, perceptions and the consciousness. Through meditation we calm the mind. With a calm mind we can then reach the realm of insight. Through insight we can change our habits and attitudes that prevent us from being happy.

“Now Is the Accepted Time”
Rev. Fred Muir,
Senior Minister
Music by Brian Ganz
Eighteen months ago, our church was asked by UUA President Bill Sinkford
to be one of three UU Congregations in the U.S. to participate in the
Diversity of Ministry Initiative. His invitation was an honor and sign of
confidence by the UUA in UUCA; it is also an opportunity to deepen our
spirituality and ministry. Join me this morning as I take a close look at
DOMI.
