Welcome to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis!
We are growing religious community of over 600 members and friends, accepting and engaging many paths to truth. Reason, experience and wisdom are our guides to spiritual growth.

Our church includes people of all races and abilities--young and old, families and singles. We celebrate diversity and intentionally seek to engage one another in our full humanness. As a Welcoming Congregation, we reach out to bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people.

Above all, we strive to create an environment that challenges, encourages and supports the individual quest for religious fulfillment.

"Running On Empty?"
Rev. Fred Muir

It seems that every week brings the sad and breathtaking news of the demise or bankruptcy of another American corporation or business.  And with it comes stories about the heartache and pain of owners, workers, and investors.  This holiday weekend, as we ponder the birth of our nation and the role of our early mothers and fathers, let's also explore the shaping meaning and message of the current economic hardships from historical, patriotic and spiritual perspectives.

“Edges”
Bryant Brown, Summer Minister

We constantly come to edges in our lives. Changes are part of life – some we choose to make, some just happen. Each moment we stand between what has been and what may be; our memories and anticipations can be distracting. Each moment has its own reality to be appreciated.

“New Wine in Old Wineskins”
Bryant Brown, Summer Minister

There are about as many Unitarian Universalists now as when the Association came into being in 1961. Much has changed in the world since then, demographically, technologically, culturally…. If the principles we affirm and promote are to have an important place in our world, we UUs need to examine truths about ourselves and embrace and make changes.

A Welcoming Congregation

"Welcoming Congregation" is a designation of the Unitarian Universalist Association indicating a UU congregation that is inclusive and expressive of the concerns of bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender (b/g/l/t) persons at every level of congregational life.

MINISTERIAL REVIEW

The first triennial review of the UUCA ministry has now been completed, and the Committee’s and Fred’s reports are both available on the UUCA website. The Ministerial Review Committee found the ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis to be not merely sound, but vital, energetic, and highly respected that brings much spiritual nurturing to its congregation and to our larger community. That said, the review revealed areas of our ministry in need of improvement or change. The committee heard from members about the need to improve the overall management of the Church, to strive for greater diversity in our worship and music programs, and to continue to strengthen our efforts to improve our intra-church communication, our pastoral care programs, and our stewardship.
